Network Overview The economic adage that "time equals money" becomes painfully clear during a network outage. MindChisel understands the significance of ensuring a high level of availability in our network infrastructure and we have made this a top priority. We have implemented the infrastructure, technology, plans, and processes to support these critical components for our customers. The best defense against network downtime is a strong offense to support high network availability. Proactively managed network services can stave off trouble, shorten network down time, and in some cases keep business moving as usual in the face of extremely unusual circumstances. Key to MindChisel's service is the planning, recovery methodology, infrastructure and technology we utilize. We have focused on both network and physical security, high speed access facilities, redundant key components in the infrastructure, resilient hardware, backup and recovery plans, and processes to keep operations up and running without interruption. In the event of a failure, we have processes in place to minimize the service disruption as much as possible. MindChisel has focused on security from both a physical and network perspective. In regards to our physical security, we have incorporated two layers of physical security to access all hardware components of our network. Our dedicated data communications room is equipped with both electronic and physical security, is environmentally protected, and has its own isolated climate controlled system. Access to the data communications room is strictly limited to our dedicated IT staff. From a network security perspective, our entire network infrastructure is housed behind our state-of-the-art firewall, running the latest software code, with access to the network infrastructure kept to an absolute minimum. In addition, we have completely isolated our private and public networks to allow for an additional layer of network security. All of our hardware infrastructure equipment is powered via UPS, which provides surge protection, line filtering, and backup power in the event of a complete power outage. MindChisel's servers monitoring tools are also equipped with automatic administration notification via e-mail and phone, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and have the ability to page our IT staff in the event of a server outage. Our servers are configured with dual and quad processors, hot-swappable RAID storage systems, hot-swappable and redundant power supplies. Currently we support multiple platforms in our environment such as Windows 2000 and Linux. We have incorporated advanced and innovative state-of- the-art technologies and procedures to ensure a high level of resiliency and recoverability of our network infrastructure. MindChisel maintains full system tape backups of all servers, both on and off site. We have a documented, detailed procedure for backups and also, for recovering from backup tapes, in the event of an emergency. We have also documented a procedure to restore service in the event of a firewall, router or switch hardware or software failure on our network to mitigate downtime. MindChisel is committed to excellence in the area of customer support, security, network availability and performance. Our philosophy has been and will continue to be one of taking a proactive approach to our infrastructure, to avoid or prevent downtime and to minimize any failure on the network by our preparedness.
